Professor Amir is the president elect of the National Israel Heart Society.
Professor Amir completed his Internal Medicine training in Texas Medical Center and served as Chief Resident in Houston.
Later on he completed his Cardiology Fellowship at Lady Davis Carmel Medical Center in Haifa, Israel.
Professor Amir sub-specialty in cardiology is in Heart Failure and he completed the Heart Failure/Heart Transplant Fellowship Program at Baylor College of Medicine, at the Texas Heart Institute, Houston where he specialized in Heart Transplantations and Mechanical Circulatory Support Systems, including :”Heart Pumps” (LVADS).
